Terms & Conditions

1. Contract

Your contract is with Human Compass and our offices are at 101 Hill Hay Close, Fowey, Cornwall, PL23 1EL, referred to as “Human Compass”, “HC”, “we”, “our” or “us” in this contract.  A binding contract is only entered into when payment for class has been received and confirmed by us.

2. Important: structure and payment:

All in-person yoga organised by us are structured as either block bookings, drop-ins, memberships, workshops or retreats. Starting on a pre-defined date and operating for one or more consecutive weeks or months and are subject to and bound by the following terms:

2.1 Memberships, workshops and retreats organised by us must be paid for in full and in advance of the start date. We accept payment via the following: Stripe, BACs or if agreed prior to payment, cash or cheque.

2.2 Payments for missed courses are non-refundable or transferable. It is sometimes possible to attend an alternative class within a block. However, this is subject to availability and not guaranteed. Furthermore, they are subject to the following terms:

2.2.1 The substitution of weekly classes are allowed subject to availability and at our discretion. Workshops are not included in the possibilities to make up classes.

2.2.2 (A missed class may only be substituted with an alternative class if we are notified by email 24 hours in advance of your usual class.  Classes must be like for like, equivalent or less than the value you have paid. In the event that the substitute class is of lesser value, no refund is possible. The date of any substitute class must be on or before the last date in your current block/term.) NB: This is NOT applicable whilst Covid-19 government guidelines are in force.

2.3 Cancellation of your booking should be confirmed and notified by email. The following cancellation policies apply:

2.3.1 All classes, 1:1s, Privates, memberships, courses and workshops and retreats are non-refundable and non-transferable with the following exceptions:

2.3.2 Pre-paid drop-in or one-off classes: NB: This is NOT applicable whilst Covid-19 government guidelines are in force.If you are unable to make the class and provide at least 1 hours notice we can transfer your credit to another class with subject to availability and within one month of the original booking. Amendment for Covid-19: cancellations are not possible during this time.

2.3.3 Memberships may be cancelled for the following month at any time by logging into your Human Compass online account or by contacting Human Compass to request.

2.3.4 1:1s and Private sessions require 48hrs advance notice for cancellation where you will receive a refund.  Between 48 – 24 hours, the session can be redeemed as long as it can be re-scheduled within one week.  If notification is provided less than 24 hours in advance, there will be no refund.

2.3.5 Workshops. In the event of cancellation 14 days or more before a workshop, you will receive a refund.  Between 14 days and 48hrs there will be no refund unless we can fill your place before the workshop commences, in this instance, your payment will be refunded.  Should the event be cancelled by Human Compass, you will be offered a full refund or if you would prefer, credit against future events held by Human Compass.

2.3.6 Retreats. To book a retreat full payment is required, of which £200 is a non-refundable deposit. Please note that payment schedules may different for different retreats. We understand that there are times where you may be unable to attend once payment has been made and we will always try to help where we can. In the event of cancellation 90 days or more prior to the retreat, you will be entitled to a refund (less the non-refundable deposit). In the event of cancellation 89 days or less prior to the retreat, payments are not refundable.  If, however your place(s) can be given to someone on the relevant retreat/holiday waiting list then we will refund you the payment (less your deposit). Should Human Compass cancel the retreat, you will be offered a full refund or if you would prefer credit against future events held by Human Compass.

2.4 Although we make every effort to promote and fill our courses, we reserve the right to cancel any course if there are fewer than 4 attendees booked onto it. If you book onto a course, that is subsequently cancelled by us, we will endeavor to find a suitable alternative, or a refund will be provided.

2.5 A donation of whatever is affordable for the participant is a possibility where needed.  Please contact the teacher directly to let them know if this is the case for you. Yoga can be for everyone, not just those that can afford it.

3. Online

It is the responsibility of the participant to let the teacher know if they have any injuries or health conditions that may affect their practice. Disclaimer: for entertainment and educational purposes only. Participants accept that they exercise at their own risk and no liability will arise on the part of the teacher throughout the remote session.
3.1
Technical issues that may arise for the participant are not the responsibility of the teacher, though technical support will be offered where possible.

4. Memberships

Memberships are set-up as a rolling direct debit.  This membership continues on a monthly rollover and you may cancel your membership for the following month, at any time by logging into your Human Compass online account or by contacting Human Compass to request.

4.1 Memberships are only for you and the household you live with.

4.2 You may not share your account, login details or any of the online class links with others who live outside of your household.

4.3 Memberships do not include classes carried out by the teachers at Bodmin Yoga, or any other yoga studios.

4.4 The memberships include all online yoga classes. They do not include online workshops, private sessions, virtual retreats or studio classes/workshops/courses or other retreats. 

4.5 The memberships include holidays and sick days taken by the teacher.

4.5 Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5. Information regarding the class

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the information on our website and elsewhere is as accurate as possible, we reserve the right to make changes to the website and elsewhere and any information they contain. You will be informed of any material changes before booking. Human Compass is only responsible for information contained within our own publications and websites. We are specifically not responsible for third party information contained in any other website.

Furthermore, we are not responsible for information regarding classes organised by third-party teachers.

6. Prices

All prices advertised or quoted are per person in GBP (pounds) sterling unless otherwise shown and are subject to change, up or down, until the booking is concluded.

7. Exclusion of liabilities

We take care to provide you quality yoga and meditation classes, by suitably qualified teachers.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good health before commencing a yoga course and seek medical advice if you are concerned.

You understand that our teachers are not medically trained and so not qualified to give medical advice. Therefore, any advice given should be qualified by a medical practitioner.

8. Complaints

9. Jurisdiction

This contract is governed by English Law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Data Protection Policy

In order for us to process your booking we need to store and record your information, including data as supplied. Equally we use such information for updating our mailing lists and you may receive class related information from Human Compass.  Should you not wish to receive such literature you must advise us in writing or opt out electronically.
